It is a truth universally acknowlaged, that a single girl of high standing at Longbourn Academy must be in want of a prom date.

After winter break, the girls at the very prestigious Longbourn Academy become obsessed with the prom. Lizzie Bennet, who attends Loungbourn on a scholarship, isn't interested in designer dresses and expensive shoes, but her best friend, Jane, might be- especially now that Charles Bingley is back from a semester in London.
Lizzie is happy about her friend's burgeoning romance but less than impressed by Charles's friend, Will Darcy, who's snobby and pretentious. Darcy doesn't seem to like Lizzie either, but she assumes it's because her family doesn't have money. Clearly, Will Darcy is a pompous jerk- so why does Lizzie find herself drawn to him anyway?
Will Lizzie's pride and Will's prejudice keep them apart? Or are they a prom couple in the making?

My Thoughts: A very needed girly break from what I have been reading. Pride and Prejudice has to be my favorite story of all time, I mean who doesn't swoon with a Mr. Darcy around? I love any telling of the story, and a high school prom is the perfect escape. As much as I love seeing Lizzie and Darcy, the story was missing some of my favorite characters who are only mentioned in one of the concluding chapters. Also some of the more important adults were missing, one turned into a teenager... Really? But it was entertaining none the less, so I was able to escape into the well known love story with a modern twist.

I went through this in one sitting, and was entertained throughout. If you are looking for a modern twist on the Jane Austen classic I say Read It!
