Amanda Rosenbloom, proprietor of Astor Place Vintage, a clothing shop in Manhattan, thinks she's on just another call to appraise and possibly purchase clothing from a wealthy, elderly woman. After discovering a journal sewn into a fur muff, Amanda gets much more than she bargained for. The journal was written in 1907 by Olive Westcott, a young woman who had recently moved to Manhattan. Olive was set on pursuing a career as a department store buyer in an era when Victorian ideas, limiting a woman's sphere to marriage and motherhood, were only beginning to give way to more modern ways of thinking. As Amanda reads the journal, her life begins to unravel until she can no longer ignore this voice from the past. Despite being separated in time by 100 years, Amanda finds she's connected to Olive in ways neither could ever imagine.

My Thoughts: This novel was brilliantly written, I could not have found a better read for this month. I am super excited that it will be coming out on the 11th so I can share it with everyone! I loved both Amanda and Olive as the leading ladies of this story. Stephanie Lehmann created a full cast of characters that are so easy to connect with on a human level. The supporting characters as well are beautifully realistic creating a full story. Also I love that Stephanie Lehmann didn't leave any story left unfinished, there is closure to each one.

This is honestly my favorite read this month, and the month has only just begun. I hope the rest of my reading list can compare well! Be sure to grab a copy when it hits shelves on June 11th! I say that this book is a Read It!
