This book was sent to me by the author for an unbiased review.
A young, promising entertainment lawyer in the verge if representing the Hollywood elite, Jim Morgan has everything he's ever wanted. But even his prized BMW is nothing compared to the love of Emily, his vivacious and beautiful fiancee. Thanks to her, Jim almost never thinks about Amanda, the college girlfriend who crushed his heart when she walked out of his life eight years ago. But when Amanda reaches out to him from an Alabama jail cell, Jim's life takes a detour. Determined to win back Amanda's freedom, he engages the help of the best criminal defense attorney he knows- Emily Perkins, his fiancee. Together, the pair head to Ashford, a rural town in the heart of Alabama, where their ingrained L.A. habits clash with Southern manners. As complications mount, including the arrival of an A-List teen actor with a problem, it becomes clear that Jim and Emily have a lot to learn about love, loss, and the benefits of line dancing.
My Thoughts: Lets just start with how much I loved the characters in this book, there was only one I wanted to punch in the face, and that was because these characters wanted to as well. (Emily was so my hero in this aspect throughout the novel, and shout out to Jim too!) There is so much depth to the entire story, it is more than just an old fling meeting his new life. I honestly hated putting this one down when I had to do something else other than reading. I wanted to know about Jim, Emily, Amanda, Sam, and Kyle. Each had issues, and each worked on them in this small town in Alabama that Amanda somehow dragged them all to. I have to say Emily was my favorite character out of the ladies, and Kyle just added a great side to everything. I want to give that kid a hug in all honesty. When things were getting to deep where I thought I might need to put the book aside for awhile, he would pop up and be the little charmer that he is!
This was a fantastic read, and thank you so much for sending it to me Mr. Shull! Keep writing because your work is fantastic. Everyone go grab a copy and Read It!
